What I Learned in the Third Quarter of English 9/10

Third quarter I learned about symbolism, allegory, poetry, imagery, figurative language, primary source, and secondary source .What I learned is that what I thought these words mean wasn’t really what they were but they had similar meanings like I didn’t now that personification is a certain form of speech. Honestly I didn’t even now that personification was a word. I didn’t now that you can make a poem with out it rhyming. But you learn something new every day. Although I learned a lot third quarter there’s still a lot to learn.

Fourth Quarter Kickoff Reflection

Fourth quarter kickoff was weird because certain students was cheating and coach Burgos didn’t even notice. I was ticked off because people from team 6 were cheating but its all good. At the end was pretty interesting because I made new friends and saw new things had. I didn’t real participate in any activities because I don’t really feel good. My favorite part if the day was the movie it was funny and had meaning to it after all it was ALRIGHT! I thought it was cute because we all came together as one and I hope to do more often.

Fourth Quarter Goals.

My third quarter goal was to get at least decent grades when my progress report came out. I was so happy I had four C's and one f and a d I was so happy because I used to get all F's and one good grade now I see if I put effort into my work I could get what I looked forward to getting. My fourth quarter goal is to get at least a 3.0 or higher I now that I can do it I promise to put all the effort that I can into my work I will not let my self or my family down.

CAHSEE Reflection

I fell like my class mates did good especially because a lot of them help me and they are very smart and intelligent kids. Some of them were scared about the test but when they came from it they were telling me that it wasn’t that hard. They came out with a smile on there face and that’s all I wanted to see them do. I hope you guys do good tomorrow to GOOD LUCK!

“Where Have You Gone, Charming Billy?” Enlist Paragraph

I would enlist in the military. Because I want to serve our country and stand up for what is right and it’s something I always thought about and it has better opportunity. I think being in the military isn’t a good thing at times because we are losing loved ones when there family needs them more then ever. If I was ever drafted it would be the scariest and hardest thing I would ever have to do all I would think about is what if I died or kidnapped I would think about my family constantly. If I came out of it alive I would be more grateful than ever it would also be an amazing experience.

Primary and Secondary Sources Comparison

What do primary and secondary sources both have in common?.One thing that primary and secondary source have in common is that they are both telling a story.what makes primary source diffrent is that they were actually a witness to what ever had happend.Secondary source is diffrent because its being told from the second person point of view but they wasnt actually there. An example for secondary source would have to be like if there was a shooting and i heard about it and people asked me what happend and i told them but i wasnt there or like magazines they get there information from who knows where but use it in magazines and actually didnt see it for themselves.But they are also helpful because what if the primary source didnt even exist and all we had was secondary souce its still helpfull.

Feelings about the CAHSEE

Even though im not taking the CAHSEE this year because i made poor choices my freshmen year. I know that im going to work and study very hard because it is a scary and important test to take.Im going to have to work on my paragraphs and punctuation marks and etc.Im not mad that im not taking the CAHSEE this year because its a lesson taught and also I have more time to get ready for the test so its okay with me I wish all my fellow class mates good luck on the CAHSEE.
